JNTU Fast Updates (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the JNTU Fast Updates mobile application (the “App”) and the website www.jntufastupdates.com (the “Website”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App and Website.

  • Google Sign-In Data: When you sign in using your Google account, we receive your name, email address, profile picture URL, and Google ID.
  • Academic Profile: When you use the SGPA/CGPA Calculator, you may provide your full name, hall ticket number, mobile number, university, regulation, branch, college name, semester details, subjects, and grades.
  • Comments: When you post comments on articles, we collect your name, email address, and comment content.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
  • Usage Data: Articles viewed, search queries, categories browsed, bookmarks saved, calculator usage, screen views, and interaction patterns within the App.
  • Push Notification Token: Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) device token for sending push notifications.
  • Crash & Error Data: Stack traces, error logs, and diagnostic information when the App encounters errors or crashes.
  • Network Information: Internet connection status and type.

1.3 Information from Third-Party Services

  • Google AdMob: May collect device identifiers, IP address, and usage data to serve personalized or non-personalized advertisements.
  • Google Play Billing: Purchase tokens and transaction data when you make in-app purchases.
  • Firebase Services: Analytics data, crash reports, and authentication tokens.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Provide Services: To deliver articles, notifications, SGPA/CGPA calculations, file downloads, and other App features.
  • Account Management: To create and manage your calculator account, store your academic data, and sync across sessions.
  • Push Notifications: To send you university updates, exam results, and other relevant notifications based on your subscribed topics.
  • Premium Subscription: To process in-app purchases and provide ad-free experiences to premium users.
  • Advertising: To display relevant advertisements (banner, interstitial, native, rewarded, and app open ads) to non-premium users.
  • Analytics & Improvements: To understand how users interact with our App, identify trends, and improve our services.
  • Crash Reporting: To identify and fix bugs, crashes, and performance issues.
  • Communication: To respond to your comments and inquiries.

3. Data Storage & Security

3.1 Local Storage

  • Bookmarks: Saved articles are stored locally on your device using SQLite database.
  • Preferences: University selections, settings, and app state are stored locally using AsyncStorage.
  • Authentication Tokens: Securely stored in your device’s Keychain (iOS) or Keystore (Android).

3.2 Server Storage

  • Academic profile data (name, hall ticket, grades, SGPA/CGPA) is stored on our secure servers at calculator.jntufastupdates.com.
  • Comments are stored on our WordPress server.

3.3 Security Measures

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted storage for sensitive data (authentication tokens), HTTPS for all network communications, and secure server infrastructure. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Advertising

Our App displays advertisements through Google AdMob. Non-premium users may see banner ads, interstitial ads, native ads, rewarded ads, and app open ads. Google AdMob may use cookies, device identifiers, and other technologies to serve ads based on your interests and prior interactions.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by:

  • Adjusting your device’s ad settings (Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization)
  • Purchasing the Premium subscription to remove all advertisements

6. In-App Purchases

We offer a lifetime premium subscription (“Calculator Lifetime Premium”) through Google Play Store. Payment processing is handled entirely by Google Play. We do not collect or store your payment card details. We receive only purchase confirmation tokens to verify your premium status.

7. Children’s Privacy

Our App is intended for general audiences, primarily college students. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at the email address below, and we will take steps to delete such information.

8. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: With third-party services listed in Section 4, solely for the purposes described in this Policy.
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
  • Protection: To protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property, and that of our users or the public.

  • Access & Update: You can access and update your academic profile through the Calculator section of the App.
  • Delete Account: You can request deletion of your calculator account and associated academic data by contacting us.
  • Manage Notifications: You can disable push notifications through your device settings.
  • Clear Local Data: You can clear App data through your device settings, which will remove locally stored bookmarks and preferences.
  • Opt Out of Ads: Purchase Premium or adjust device ad settings.
  • Withdraw Consent: You may withdraw consent at any time by discontinuing use of the App.

10. Data Retention

  • Academic Data: Retained on our servers as long as your account is active. You can request deletion by contacting us.
  • Analytics Data: Retained by Firebase according to Google’s data retention policies (typically 14 months for user-level data).
  • Crash Reports: Retained for 90 days by Firebase Crashlytics.
  • Comments: Retained on our WordPress server indefinitely unless deletion is requested.
  • Local Data: Retained on your device until you clear App data or uninstall the App.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
