JNTUH Guidelines for Autonomous Colleges on Examination Centre Allotment and Cooperation in the Conduct of University Semester-End Examinations

As you are aware that for the smooth and timely conduct of the University Semester End Examinations, Test Centres are allotted in a jumbled manner by utilizing the available infrastructure of all existing Affiliated (Non-Autonomous) Colleges and Autonomous Colleges. From University’s perspective, this arrangement is essential to ensure the effective distribution of examination centres, optimal utilization of available infrastructure, fair and smooth conduct of examinations for students of the University and its Affiliated Colleges.
However, in recent times, it has been observed that certain Affiliated Colleges, immediately after being conferred Autonomous status, have been requesting the University to exempt them from being allotted as Test Centres or to restrict the number of students allotted to their colleges for the conduct of University Semester End Examinations stating various reasons some being noteworthy and others being not factual. These increasing number of requests for exemption or reduction in the allotment of candidates is likely to adversely affect the University’s ability to plan and conduct the Semester End Examinations in a fair, smooth, systematic, and timely manner.
In view of the above, the Autonomous Colleges being integral part of the University are strictly instructed to extend the required support, to own the responsibility in supporting the examination-related requirements of the Affiliating University. No doubt, the grant of Autonomous status enables colleges to exercise academic autonomy; however, the cooperation in facilitating the Affiliating University’s examination activities, wherever required, remains essential for safeguarding the academic interests of students and ensuring the uninterrupted conduct of University examinations.
Therefore, all the Principals of Autonomous Colleges are hereby requested to extend their full cooperation to the University by making the required classrooms, examination halls, and other necessary infrastructure available for the conduct of University Semester End Examinations.
Further, you are also advised to plan their institutional activities, maintenance works, and staff arrangements, to the extent feasible, in coordination with the University examination schedule, so as to minimize requests for exemption or reduction in the allotment of candidates.
All the Autonomous Colleges are requested to extend their wholehearted cooperation and active participation in the smooth and successful conduct of the University Semester-End Examinations. Your valued support and collaborative efforts are sincerely appreciated.
