The Karnataka state government announced that Karnataka Common Entrance Test will be held on 28th and 29th August respectively. The KCET is conducted for admission into various courses including Engineering. Aspirants seeking admission in B.Sc can also appear for the Karnataka CET examination.
“The CET exam will take place on August 28 and 29. Each subject will carry 60 marks,” Deputy Chief Minister C N Ashwath Narayan said at a press conference on Tuesday. KCET exam will be held on August 30 for candidates staying in border regions, he said.
As per the KCET Date sheet, Mathematics and and Biology exams will be held on the first day while Physics and Chemistry on the second day. Applicants seeking admission in B.Sc, Engineering, and other courses in Karnataka can apply for KCET from 15th June. PUC marks will not be considered for KCET registration.
Mr Narayan said that students must qualify the KCET with required cutoff marks to clear the exam.
Mr Narayan said, “We are considering admitting science students into BSc degree courses through CET. If possible, from this year onwards.”
Relaxation will be given in PUC second-year marks. As the Karnataka state government has decided to promote the students in PUC second year without conducting the exams due to COVID 19 pandemic.
