TNPSC Group 2 Syllabus 2018: Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) released the Group II notification recently. Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission is the Tamil Nadu state’s functional authority that recruits manpower for various associated organizations of it. Annually the organization releases notifications for various posts. This year TSPSC notified 1199 Group 2 Posts. The vacancies include Sub registrar, probation officer (prisons department and social defence department) posts. The organization is going to shortlist the suitable aspirants by organizing various rounds, preliminary examination, mains examination, and interview rounds. Candidates who are qualifying the preliminary examination will be sent to the mains examination round. And finally, hopefuls clearing the mains examination will be shortlisted for the interview round. TNPSC GROUP II Syllabus & Exam Pattern 2018

TNPSC Group 2 SCHEME OF THE PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION, MAIN WRITTEN EXAMINATION AND ORAL TEST :

TNPSC Group 2 PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION Pattern (OBJECTIVE TYPE)

In this test, there will be 200 objective type questions; the test will be conducted for a total 300 marks.

• General Studies: 75 Question
• Aptitude and Mental Ability Test: 25 Questions
• General Tamil and English: 100 Questions

a. Two types of question papers will be set. One type of paper will contain questions on General Studies (75 items), Aptitude and Mental Ability Test (25 items) and General English (100 items). The other will contain questions on General Studies (75 items), Aptitude and Mental Ability Test (25 items) and General Tamil (100 items). Candidates are given the option to choose either General Tamil or General English for answering the second 100 items apart from answering the first (75+25) 100 items on General Studies.

b. The questions on General Studies will be set both in English and Tamil and the questions on General Tamil / General English will be set in the respective languages.

TNPSC Group 2 MAIN WRITTEN EXAMINATION AND ORAL TEST Pattern:-

• This exam has total 300 marks descriptive type question for General Studies subject.
• The duration will be 3 hours.
• The minimum qualifying marks/Cutoff marks for Mains Examination will be 102 marks.

Note:

(A) The question paper will be set both in Tamil and English. The general subjects/topics from which the questions will be asked are:

1) Role and impact of Science and Technology in the Development of India and Tamil Nadu.

2) Administration of Union and States with special reference to Tamil Nadu.

3) Socio Economic Problems of India and Tamil Nadu.

4) Current issues at National level.

5) Current issues at State level.
