The Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (APTET- May, 2018) is being conducted by Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh in all 13 Districts of the State through a Computer Based Test. The objective is to ensure National Standards and benchmark of Teacher quality in the recruitment process in accordance with the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
Online applications are invited for the Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (APTET-May, 2018) from candidates for all those aspiring to be Teachers in State Government, Mandal Parishad, ZillaParishad, Municipality, Private Aided Schools and Private un-aided schools in Andhra Pradesh State for classes I to VIII.
Candidates can apply for APTET June, 2018 to be held from 10.06.2018 to 19.06.2018 ‘ONLINE’ only through APTET website http://cse.ap.gov.in/ from 04.05.2018.

Government after careful examination of the proposals of the Commissioner of School Education, Andhra Pradesh, Amaravati hereby issue the following Guidelines/ Instructions for conduct of Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) as Computer Based Test(CBT) in supersession of the guidelines issued earlier in this regard.
SCHEDULE OF EXAMINATION:
The following guidelines shall be followed for conduct of APTET:-
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR CANDIDATES FOR APPEARING AP-TET:
The candidates at the time of applying for AP-TET should be in possession of the following minimum qualifications prescribed for category of I to V classes (Paper- I) and VI to VIII classes (Paper – II) separately.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR AP – TET PAPER – I (CLASSES I TO V):
Intermediate / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks. However in case of SC/ ST/ BC/ Differently Abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be 45%. AND pass in 2 – year Diploma in Elementary Education / 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) / 2 – year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
OR
Intermediate / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks. In respect of SC/ ST/ BC/ Differently Abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be 40%. AND pass in 2 – year Diploma in Elementary Education / 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education.
OR
(B.El.Ed.) / 2 – year Diploma in Education (Special Education) in case of the candidates, who have passed or admitted to D.El.Ed / D.Ed., course prior to issue of these guidelines.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR AP-TET PAPER – II (CLASSES VI TO VIII):
B.A./B.Sc./B.Com., with at least 50% marks. In case of SC/ST/BC/Differently Abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be 45%. AND pass in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course / Bachelor of Education (B.Ed -Special Education).
OR
B.A./B.Sc./B.Com., with at least 50% marks. In respect of SC/ ST/ BC/ Differently Abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be 40%. AND pass in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course / Bachelor of Education (B.Ed -Special Education) in case of the candidates, who have passed or admitted to B.Ed., course prior to issue of these guidelines.
OR
4-year B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed., with at least 50% marks, in case of SC/ ST/ BC/ Differently Abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be 45%.
OR
Graduation with Language concerned as one of the Optional Subjects (OR) Bachelor of Oriental Language (or its equivalent) (OR) Graduation in Literature (OR) Post Graduation in Language concerned AND Language Pandit Training Certificate/ B.Ed with Language concerned as one of the Methodologies, in respect of Language Teachers.
Structure, Content and Syllabus of APTET:
(a) The structure and content of each part of Paper-I, Paper-II(A)
The structure and content of each part of Paper-I, Paper-II(A) of the 7th APTET-2018, and the breakup of the total 150 marks among various parts of the paper are given in the Information Bulletin. Syllabus for APTET-2018 can be downloaded from http://cse.ap.gov.in.
MEDIUM OF QUESTION PAPER:
The Question Paper shall be bilingual (i.e). English followed by the Language-I chosen by the candidates for all Languages except Sanskrit. For the candidates choosing Sanskrit, the questions shall be in Telugu followed by Sanskrit (Devanagari Script).
QUALIFYING MARKS IN TET, ISSUE OF MEMOs/ CERTIFICATES AND THEIR VALIDITY:
(b) The Director SCERT, Andhra Pradesh shall issue Memos/Pass Certificates to the candidates.
c) The validity of Certificates shall be for a period of 7 years from the date of TET concerned as per CTET. A person who has qualified in TET examination may appear again for improving his/her scores in subsequent years. The said certificates will be given in digital format.
Examination FEE:
The fee towards submission of application online and for the conduct of computer based examination is Rs.500/- for each Paper-I, Paper-II (A) & (B) separately. Candidates shall pay the fee through payment Gateway from 05.05.2018 to 22.05.2018 and submit online application at the APTET websitehttp://cse.ap.gov.in from 05.05.2018 to 23.05.2018.
Note: If the candidate desires to apply for all papers he/she has to pay Rs.500/- for each paper separately.
Procedure for submission of application online:
Detailed procedure for applying ONLINE is given in the Information Bulletin. Candidates can download the ‘Information Bulletin’ free of cost from the APTET website http://cse.ap.gov.in from 04.05.2018 onwards. Candidates can submit their applications online from 05.05.2018 to 23.05.2018. No candidate is allowed for Edit / Modify the application once submitted.

WEIGHTAGE OF TET SCORES IN THE TEACHER RECRUITMENT OF THE STATE:
A 20% Weightage to TET scores shall be provided in the Teacher Recruitment of the State Government, balance 80% weightage will be for Written Test in Teacher Recruitment Test (TRT) based on which selection lists shall be prepared.
However, mere qualifying the TET would not confer a right on any person for recruitment/ employment as it is only one of the eligibility criteria for Teacher appointment.
