GCERT to prepare new question papers for Class 7 exams after theft

The Director of Primary Education and Gujarat Council of Educational Research and Training (GCERT) is getting ready to prepare new question papers for class 7 examinations after the paper leak scandal spread. As per the information from the sources, class 7th papers of 6 subjects have been stolen in Talaja in Bhavnagar district, the Director of Primary Education. Apart from Gujarati, all the remaining subjects will be redrafted by the GCERT.

The Director of Primary Education also cancelled the social science and science examinations, which are slated to conduct on 22nd and 23rd April. In place of these exams, new exams with newly drafted question papers will be conducted for the class 7th students. The cancelled subject examinations will be conducted on 29th and 30th April. In state of Gujarat, 55 lakh students are studying in primary schools, in which there were 7 lakh class 7th students.   

The DPE has started the primary examination from class 3rd to class 8th on 18th April and the last date of the exams is 28th April. Now the exams will be ended by 30th April.

After the theft of the question papers, the new question papers were sent in CDs to all GCERT centers in every district. Coordinators of block resource clusters will make photocopies of these papers considering the number of registered students. The GCERT further instructed the managements of schools not to keep the question papers in schools and instructed them to keep securely at homes. The exam papers must be sealed and they must be brought to the examination centers only on the examination day.
