Assessment criteria will be same for Bifocal Vocational Courses, Minimum Competency Vocational Courses, & courses aligned with the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF).

The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBHSHSE) has taken a decision to pass all the students. Students who got less marks in their exams will be granted grace marks.

“Any candidate who is not satisfied with the marks allotted can appear in the next couple of examinations for improvement in scores to be conducted by the board,” said state School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad.

Maharashtra state education board is developing a unique assessment criteria for class 12 students across India, Gaikwad said.

“It is no doubt an ad-hoc arrangement but one that attempts to capture the spirit of continuous assessments using credible data points. It also offers some semblance of ‘normal times’, with computation of marks of Class 10 and Class 11 marks, based on assessments held during pre-Covid times… Any candidate who is not satisfied with the marks allotted can appear in the next couple of examinations for improvement in scores, to be conducted by the board,” she said.

MSBHSHSE has developed a separate assessment criteria for students of private/reappear, and for the students appearing for the isolated subjects.

For reappearing candidates, 50% marks will be given for best of three score in class 10, and the remaining 50% marks will be allotted on the basis of previous attempts in class 12. In case if students had not passed in any subject in the previous attempt, the marks will be given on the basis of internal assessment, projects, home tests, or any other.

While coming to private candidates, 50% marks will be given for best of three score in class 10, and the remaining 50% of marks will be given on the basis of internal assessment, projects, home tests, or any other.

And for Improvement Scheme candidates, the cancelled board exam of 2021 won’t be taken into consideration, they can attempt until they get good score.

Every collage will be headed by principal along with 6-teachers committee to handle the responsibility of allotting marks and maintain the records securely. The collages are instructed to maintain the timelines of various activities to announce the results in time. MSBHSHSE will conduct the webinars, releases the FAQs and guidelines for teachers and collages to provide awareness on the assessment criteria.
