Examinations are an integral part of the education system and is a measure students’ learning, knowledge, skills and other competencies. The performance in examinations contributes to merit, lifelong credibility, wider global acceptability for admissions, scholarships, awards, placements, and better future prospects.

A large number of best universities across the world including US, UK, Canada, Germany, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong and other countries, have conducted or are conducting examinations by giving various options such as Online/Offline/Blended or other alternative forms of examinations.

In order to safeguard the larger interest of the students related to their academic and career progression globally, the UGC issued Guidelines on Examinations and Academic Calendar on 29th April,2020 mentioning that for the students of Terminal Semester(s)/ Final Year Examinations may be conducted between July 1-15, 2020.

In view of emerging COVID-19 pandemic situation it was difficult to conduct the examinations in the month of July, 2020, therefore, as per the directions of Ministry of Home, Ministry of Human Resources Development, and the report of the Expert Committee, UGC issued Revised Guidelines for Examination and Academic Calendar on 6th July, 2020.

Accordingly, the Universities were required to chart out a plan for completion of terminal semester/ final year examinations by the end of September, 2020 in offline (pen & paper)/ online/ blended (online + offline) mode following the prescribed protocols / guidelines related to COVID-19 pandemic. The guidelines also mentioned that in case a student of terminal semester/ final year is unable to appear in the examination conducted by the University for whatsoever the reason(s) may be, he/she may be given opportunity to appear in special examinations for such course(s)/ paper(s), which may be conducted by the university as and when feasible, so that the student is not put to any inconvenience/ disadvantage. UGC vide its letter of 8th July, 2020 also communicated the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Conduct of Examinations as suggested by MHRD.

Recently universities were approached to inform the status of the conduct of examination. Out of 945 Universities (as per the list maintained by UGC till 01-06-2020) the responses were obtained from 755 Universities (120 Deemed Universities, 274 Private Universities, 40 Central Universities and 321 State Universities). The information from remaining Universities is being obtained.

Out of the 755 Universities, 560 Universities have either conducted the examination or are planning to conduct. Details are as follows:

(i) 194 have already conducted examination (on-line/off-line);

(ii) 366 are planning to conduct examination (on-line/off-line/blended mode) in August/September

In addition, 27 Private Universities, which were established during 2019-20 to till date, their first batch is yet to become eligible for final examination.

The admission criteria for Indian Institutes of Technology, or IITs, have been relaxed. The Union Minister of Human Resource Development Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ announced on Twitter that apart from qualifying the Joint Entrance Examination, or JEE, Advanced, students will no longer need to score a minimum of 75% in their school board exams to be eligible. Earlier, only students who scored a minimum 75 per cent marks in the Class 12 board exams or ranked in the top 20 percentile in their qualifying examinations were eligible. However, the cancellation of several board papers due to the COVID-19 outbreak and students securing lesser marks, the Joint Admission Board, or JAB, has relaxed this criterion of 75 per cent marks.

Due to the partial cancellation of class XII exams by several Boards, Joint Admission Board (JAB) has decided to relax the eligibility criterion for #JEE (Advanced) 2020 qualified candidates this time.

Qualified candidates who have passed class XII examinations will now be eligible for admissions irrespective of marks obtained.

For admissions to IITs, apart from qualifying the JEE (Advanced), the eligibility was to secure either minimum score of 75% marks in class XII Board exams or rank among the top 20 percentile in their qualifying examinations.

The 1st to 5th Class students will have their TV classes for two hours a day, from 11 AM to 01 PM.

The Upper Primary and High School classes, from Classes VI to IX will be telecasted in the afternoon from 2 PM to 4 PM.

  • 6th, 7th Class From 02 PM to 03 PM
  • 8th, 9th Class from 03 PM to 04 PM.

Classes for the students of X will be telecasted in two sessions, the sources said. The language classes will be aired from 10 AM to 11 AM and the non-language classes from 4 PM to 5 PM.

The SSED planning to adopt the CBSE workbook model to give the worksheets to the students and other assessment activities. This will help the students to improve their understanding skills.  

“State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) has already prepared video lessons covering different subjects of all the classes. It is planned to be telecasted the same through the DD Saptagiri. Also, few more video lessons could also be prepared with the teachers as and when required,” he added.

Further plans were in progress for interaction of teacher and students. As of now, the workbook pattern will be followed for homework and other tasks.

For the interaction, students and teachers need to use the mobiles. Students can reach the teachers through Whatsapp for doubts and other issues. Students will be guided by the teachers through Whatsapp.

Now, “efforts are on to figure out a way to address this issue,” the sources said.

APPSC Departmental Test Notification 2020: Applications are invited ON-LINE from 08/07/2020 to 27/07/2020 for the Departmental Tests MAY, 2020 Session to be held from 25/08/2020 to 28/08/2020 and 31/08/2020 to 01/09/2020.

Applicants primarily shall register the One Time Profile Registration (OTPR) through the Commission’s Website viz., https://psc.ap.gov.in. Once applicant registers his/her particulars, a User ID is generated and sent to his/her registered mobile number and email ID. Applicants need to apply for the Tests using the OTPR User ID through Commission’s website. The applicants, who had already generated OTPR earlier for last Departmental Tests, shall apply directly making use of the same number.

The application will be available on Commission’s website (https://psc.ap.gov.in) from 08-07- 2020. The last date for submission of online application is 27/07/2020 (26/07/2020 is the last date for payment of fee up to 11:59 PM) Hand written / Typed / Photostat copies / Printed Application Form will not be entertained either directly or by post or in person. The terms and conditions are detailed hereunder following Departmental Tests Rules, 1965 and subsequent amendments to these Rules from time to time.

1. SCHEME OF THE EXAMINATION:

(a) All the Tests, except Language and Survey Tests will be in Objective Type in terms of G.O.Ms.No.602, G.A. (Ser-C) Department, dated. 01.11.2011.

(b) The Language Test papers (P.C.Nos.5, 6, 7, 19, 28, 36,49, 67,37, 58, 74) and Survey & Settlement papers (P.C.Nos.69, 87, 109, 110, 111, 112, 116, 117, 118, 119, 120, 121, 122, 133, 134 and 135) will be of conventional mode.

(c) All the objective type papers will be held on Computer Based Departmental Tests. Instructions regarding this Computer Based Test are detailed in the Instructions Manual at Annexure – I.

(d) The candidates appearing for Objective Type papers may use Mock Test facility available on Commission’s Website, to acquaint with the Computer Based Tests.

(e) The candidates appearing for Conventional Papers (Descriptive Exams) will be supplied with OMR sheet attached Answer Books to be answered with Blue or Black Pen. (f) Schedule of test timings as per G.O.Ms.No.55 General Administration (Ser-C) Dept., dt.02/05/2017 is as under.

2. (A) TIMETABLE:

A candidate desirous to appear for more than one Test may apply for the Tests to the extent the Time-table at Annexure-II permits.

2. (B) SYLLABUS:

The list of books allowed for each Test along with syllabus is available on the Commission’s Website.

The qualifying marks for each Test/Paper are shown at Annexure-III. The syllabus for Paper Codes 92 and 102 of Departmental Tests for Commercial Taxes has been revised as suggested by the Commissioner of Commercial Taxes and hosted on website separately.

3. EXAMINATION CENTRES:

(i) All the Departmental Tests will be conducted at all the 13 Districts.

(ii) The candidates shall be admitted at the respective District Centre only, where the candidate is presently working as mentioned in the application.

FEE & PAYMENT PROCEDURE:

i) The fee for each Paper is Rs. 500/- (Rupees five hundred only) as per G.O.Ms.No.121,G.A(Ser-C) Department, Dt.17.09.2019. However, no fee is prescribed for the Tests in Gujarathi and Marwari Languages.

ii) The applicant shall pay Rs. 500/-(Rupees Five Hundred Only) towards application processing fee, besides the examination fee.

HOW TO APPLY:

The Applicants shall read the Instructions Manual at Annexure-I and go through the User Guide on Website before submission of Applications online.

STEP-I: Candidates applying for the first time for any notification has to first fill the OTPR application carefully to obtain OTPR ID. While filling the OTPR, the candidates have to ensure that there are no mistakes done. The Commission bears no responsibility for the mistakes, if any, made by the candidates. (If candidates already have OTPR ID number then he/she can proceed to STEP-II.)

STEP-II: The Applicant has to Login in the Commission’s website with the User Name (OTPR ID) and the Password set by Candidate. After Login, the Applicant has to click on the “Online Application Submission” present in the bottom right corner of the Commission’s website. PAYMENT PROCESS: The Applicant now has to click on the payment link against the Notification No.03/2020. The Basic details required for calculation of the Fee will be prepopulated from the OTPR data. The Applicant has to verify all the details that were displayed. Once the Payment form is submitted, the respective details (Used for Calculation of fee) will not be altered in any stage of application processing. Hence if any details are to be changed, applicant should use the Modify OTPR link, modify the details, save it and again click on application payment link.

STEP-III: After checking all the data and ensuring that the data is correct the applicant has to fill application specific data. Once all the data is filled appropriately, the applicant has to submit the payment form. On successful submission, the payment reference ID is generated and is displayed on the screen. By clicking “OK” the Applicant is shown the various payment options where he/she can select any one among them and complete the payment process as given on the screen.

STEP-IV: Once the payment is successful, payment reference ID is generated. Candidates can note the payment reference ID for future correspondence. Thereafter the applicant is directed to the application form. Applicant should provide the payment reference ID generated along with the other details required for filling the application form (other fields like OTPR ID and personal details will be prepopulated from the data submitted in the payment form for respective notification). The Applicant should check the data displayed thoroughly and should fill the application specific fields like paper code details, examination centre etc., carefully and submit the Application form. Once the Application is submitted successfully then Application Receipt is generated. The Applicant is requested to print and save the application receipt for future reference/correspondence.

STEP-V: In any case if the payment process is not submitted successfully, then the applicant should start the fresh payment process as mentioned in STEP-II.

STEP-VI: Once the application is submitted successfully, correction in application form will be enabled. The corrections can be made in the application form itself for paper code only. Fields which affect the Name, personal details and fee are not enabled for corrections.

In the reference 3rd read above, the SSC Public Examinations (SSC / OSSC / VOCATIONAL), March, 2020, were scheduled from 23rd March 2020 to 8th April 2020 and re-scheduled from 31st March 2020 to 17th April 2020 with the announcement of local body elections from 9th to 29th March, 2020.

2. In the reference 4th read above, Government have issued orders, for implementation of “ Lockdown” in the State for Containment, Control and Prevention of spread of COVID-19 and extended the period of Lockdown from time to time vide reference 3rd to 6th read above.

3. In the reference 10th read above, the C.S.E., has submitted a proposal for replacement of the eleven-paper pattern of SSC Public Examinations with six paper pattern due to COVID- 19 pandemic and the National lockdown. Accordingly, Government have issued orders, in the reference 11th read above, introducing the six paper pattern for the benefit of the students and the schedule has been revised to conduct the SSC Public Examination, March 2020, from 10th to 17th July, 2020.

4. In the reference 12th read above, the C.S.E., has informed that majority of the District Collectors expressed that it would be difficult to conduct the SSC Public Examinations, as there is a persistent increase of cases in the Districts. With a dearth of police and medical personnel, their deployment in the examination centres is also an area of concern expressed by them. Therefore, the CSE has proposed for cancellation of SSC Public Examinations, March 2020 and to drop the grading system and to declare only pass or fail system of the candidate. In case of the admissions, where grading in SSC is criteria, consider the possibilities for conducting entrance examination so that the high achievers may not forego the opportunity.

5. Government, having examined the matter, observed that even though all efforts are made viz., revising of schedules according to the extension of lockdown, conducting Online classes during the lockdown period to boost the morale of students for SSC Public Examinations and not to let the COVID-19 crisis overshadow the prospects of the students and reviewed the pros and cons for conduction of SSC Public Examinations, 2020 and conditions of Covid-19 pandemic prevailing in the State, and therefore, decided to cancel the SSC Public Examinations (SSC/ OSSC/ VOCATIONAL), 2020, in order to protect students and to ensure that no child should fall prey to the COVID-19.

6. Accordingly, Government hereby permit the Director of Government Examinations, A.P., to declare all the students, who have been registered for SSC Public Examinations, March, 2020, and issued hall tickets for appearing examination as pass without awarding any grade points as one-time measure in relaxation of the orders issued in G.O.Ms.No.82, School Education (Prog.II) Department, dt.29.10.2015 read with G.O.Ms.No.69, School Education (Prog.II) Department, dt. 15.10.2019 and G.O.Ms.No.3 School Education (Prog.II) Department, dt. 09.01.2020.

Delhi Govt Cancels State University Exams Including Final Year Exams: Delhi’s deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia has declared that all the state university examinations have been canceled due to the COVID crisis. Minister also mentioned that marks will be allotted to students on the basis of evaluation specifications decided by the state universities.

 “In light of the major disruptions caused by the coronavirus pandemic, Delhi govt has decided to cancel all Delhi state university exams including final exams,” Sisodia tweeted.

All the semester and academic examinations will be cancelled as per the guidelines of Delhi Government. Minister Sisodia has confessed this news during a press conference.

“For schools in Delhi, we had decided not to conduct examinations for classes 9th and 11th and promote them based on other evaluation parameters,” Sisodia stated.

“We requested the Central government to follow the same pattern for the CBSE board exams in the national capital and it is finally happening,” he added.

The minister mentioned that the universities may face the challenge of conducting the practicals or lab research works.

“Keeping this mind, the Delhi government believes there is no point conducting university examination for a semester where no studies took place,” he said.

Education minister has mentioned that students who got jobs can take their degree certificates to start their work.

 “Extraordinary times like these call for extraordinary measures,” Sisodia said quoting chief minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Delhi has several state universities such as Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Ambedkar University, Delhi Technological University, Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW), Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology, National Law University Delhi, among others.

University Grants Commission (UGC) on Monday announced that the final year examinations for all the state universities will be conducted in September.

 “Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal will write a letter to the Prime Minister requesting him to cancel exams for students across all central universities as well,” he said.

NOTIFICATION FOR Special Supplementary Examinations – 2020 (For Autonomous College Students)

  • I, II MBA- I, II, III & IV SEMESTERS I M.TECH/ M.PHARMACY – I, II SEMESTERS FOR CANDIDATES ADMITTED IN 2015 & PRIOR BATCHES [(Under Regular Scheme) who have completed their two years of regular course within 4 years having backlog subjects]
  • I, II, III MCA – I, II, III, IV & V SEMESTERS FOR CANDIDATES ADMITTED IN 2013 & PRIOR BATCHES [(Under Regular Scheme) who have completed their three years of regular course within 6 years having backlog subjects]

CANDIDATES OF AUTONOMOUS COLLEGES APPEARING FOR THE ABOVE EXAMINATIONS ARE INFORMED THAT THE EXAMINATIONS WILL BE CONDUCTED AT UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING, KAKINADA, JNTUK, KAKINADA ONLY. THE APPLICATIONS WILL BE RECEIVED AS PER THE TIME SCHEDULE GIVEN BELOW:

EXAM REGISTRATION & IMPORTANT DATES

  • Without Late Fee: 20.07.2020
  • With Late Fee of Rs.500/- 24.07.2020
  • With Late fee of Rs.1000/- 27.07.2020

EXAMINATION FEE

  • FOR EACH SUBJECT (THEORY / PRACTICAL) Rs.1500/-

1. A common application form for all the MBA/ MCA/ MTech/ M.Pharmacy Examinations available in the website is to be filled by the candidates giving all the details without fail. A separate application is to be submitted for each semester.

2. Applications should be enclosed with the attested (by the principal) Photocopies of latest marks memos containing failed subjects along with the application without fail.

3. All the candidates should enclose the attested (by the principal) syllabus copies of the failed subjects compulsory along with the filled in applications.

4. The Payment of Total Examination Fee (Without Fine/Rs. 100 Fine/Rs. 1000 Fine) has to be made through Online Link provided in the portal from 29.07.2020 to 30.07.2020. After Payment a “Payment Form” will be generated, which has to be printed and submitted along the Application Form.

5. The College has to submit the printed Payment Form and filled in student application at the Office of Controller of Examinations, JNTUK, Kakinada without fail. The dates of application submission will be notified later.

6. Lab/Seminar examinations will be also conducted at University College of Engineering, Kakinada, JNTUK, Kakinada.

7. Candidates will have to download Hall Tickets from www. jntukexams.net.

8. Detailed Time Tables of Theory Examinations and Lab/ Seminar/ Project Viva will be Notified on JNTUK website (www.jntuk.edu.in/ www.jntukexams.net).
